Volunteer / Work Experience - fashion work and type

We should have work experience, because we all want to go to aboard to study. We should adapt the life in foreign country. So, we must work 10 hours for volunteer. Students all over the world have to work for their education. A college education in the United States (Canada) is expensive. The costs are so high that most families begin to save for their children＇s education when their children are babies. Even so, many young people cannot afford to pay the expenses of fulltime college work. They do not have enough money to pay for school costs. Tuition for attending the university, books for classes, and living expenses are high. There are other expenses such as chemistry and biology laboratory fees and special student activity fees for such things as parking permits and football tickets. The cost of college education increases every year. However, classrooms are still crowded with students. Yet just as Americans choose to attend American universities in spite of the difficulty, it is usually possible for students from abroad to work on university campuses to pay for some of the cost of their education. Some people believe that students value their education more if they work for it. Others work to gain experience in their chosen professions. I think this kind of work experience is good for us. If we have work experience at present, we have the ability to work independently in the future.

GCA’s Fashion Show was on April 27, 2009.Before the Fashion show begin, there is much preparatory work for us (volunteer) to do. We should write the “Fashion Show” then paint the words it is not an easy work, we should give a people a fashion feeling, the main purpose of fashion is to attract people's attention. We paint this words used 2days.but it is very interesting, it is a big work, because it will show the all the GCA teachers and GCA students. We must pay attention to do it. At the beginning, we write the words on the paper, we should write different style, in these 11 words, it is a small challenge. We not have enough paper, so we have no chance to write and paint again. We must careful to do the words. I, Rena and Ms.Hadley do a letter together. Three of us use the different color. The combination of limited colors, object details and combination with actual composition works very well together. Ms.Hadley told us we do the letter very excellent.

In this May holiday, I work in my uncle’s company for free. I help them to type, because my uncle’s company is very busy, everyday, his company have files, these files need to arrange and type. I am type speed is not very fast, but I can help them. So from 29th to 3rd, I go to his company to help him to type. It might seem difficult at first but try it a couple of times and you will see that you will type much faster this way. Typing is boring, but I can practice typing speed, this can help me, because we should do lots of work on the internet, this is good for me. From this work experience, I learn a lot of type technique. I am very glad to have this chance to exercise my mind.

Work experience is very good us. In such a process, she feels that in order to train the ability of doing original and innovative research, one must learn how to learn, learn how to think and learn how to develop.

Religious Service -- go to church

On December 13th, 2009. I, Ms. Bartell and my friends go to church. The church is on Mochou Road.

Christian views of Jesus (see also Christology) center on the belief that Jesus is divine, is the Messiah whose coming was prophesied in the Old Testament, and that he was resurrected after his crucifixion. Christians predominantly believe that Jesus is the "Son of God" (generally meaning that he is God the Son, the second person in the Trinity), who came to provide salvation and reconciliation with God by his death for their sins. Other Christian beliefs include Jesus' virgin birth, performance of miracles, ascension into Heaven, and a future Second Coming. While the doctrine of the Trinity is widely accepted by Christians, a small minority instead hold various nontrinitarian beliefs concerning the divinity of Jesus.

I never go to church before this time, so I am curious about where church is. I think the church holy; Ms Bartell told us we can go to the church, I am l in high spirits. The church in Mchou Road is very busy, every week; the people who believe Jesus (Christ) always go to church. When we get to the church, we find a place to sit down; the church began to sing, we are very lucky, because Christmas was coming. Christmas commemorates the birth of Jesus. We sing the song follows them, and then they began to read the poems with cadence.

I like this experience; I learn lots of things about Jesus (Christ). Although many people live in china, they believe Christ. The impact of Christ is very large for people.

Go to a Performance - watch the Taming of the Shrew.

On December 19th, 2008. I go to the third floor of cafeteria in NFLS to watched the Taming of the Shrew.

This drama is one of the great comedy plays by William Shakespeare. This play is both interesting and significant. I am very excited to watch the play.

At the beginning of the play, a drunkard named Christopher Sly, who stumbles out of an inn and falls into a deep sleep. A Lord passing by notices Sly and decides to play a trick on him.
This play introduction the beautiful and gentle Bianca has no shortage of admirers (Lucentio, Gremio and Hortensio) but her father insists that she will not marry until her shrewish sister, Katharina, is betrothed. Bianca's suitors persuade fortune-seeker Petruchio to court her. The suitors pay for any costs involved and there is also the goal of Katharina's dowry. Petruchio marries Katharina and he carries Katharina off to his country house with his servant Grumio. Petruchio intends to browbeat Katharina into submission and he denies her food, sleep and her new clothes, whilst continuously singing her praises. Katharina is tamed. They return to Padua where Lucentio has won Bianca. At a banquet they wager on who has the most obedient wife. Each wife is issued with commands but only Katharina obeys and promptly lectures everyone on the importance of wifely submission.

This play is very interesting; I am very like it, it not only can prove our English, also if you do then that makes you feel better and opens up your eyes and world to more fully understand both new – and old – things and people.

Public events. Go to Mochou Lake

On April 19, 2009 . I and my friends went to Mochou Lake in the afternoon; Mochou Lake is on No.132 Shuiximen Avenue. We go to there bus. I am very excited. This is also an interesting excursion, it make me relaxed. I think relax can relieve stress and strengthens the immune system. When I entered, I saw a large Lake – Mochou Lake. The lake was a real eye catcher.

Mochou Lake is another famous classical garden in Nanjing beside Xuanwu Lake, it is the integration of culture of the Six Dynasties. The main attractions are former residence of Mochou, Shengqi Pavilion, Yujin Hall etc. so I choose this exhibition. It is very famed in Nanjing. The lake is full of lotus roots when the water lilies are in blossom in summer time. In the center of the lake is an island that is accessible to tourists by boat. The lake is also the site of dragon races during Dragon Boat Festival every year.

I walked around the lake. Just hark to local guide, it is said that one legend, the name of the lake came from a young woman of beauty and virtue named Mochou who lived during the Northern and Southern Dynasty (386-589). She married a man from the Lu family in Jinling (now known as Nanjing City) and had a baby. They lived a happy life until one day Lu was recruited to the army. Because there had been no news of him since he had left, she missed her husband dearly day and night. Finally, it is said that Mochou turned into a lake, with the hope of flowing to her husband's side. In memory of the young woman's undying devotion to her husband, the lake was aptly named Mochou Lake by the local people.

With Mochou Lake peculiar charm, it attracts millions of visitors, the beautiful scenery there was so impressive.
